Samsung T220 22-inch Widescreen LCD TFT Monitor
The Samsung T220 exudes a polished red styling that is more akin to a high-end TV rather than a run of the mill black computer display.
In use the location of side control buttons can make it slightly awkward to render adjustments to brightness, contrast, coulour etc. However these do not require frequent adjusting and from setup only some minor tweaks need to be made to the colours to obtain a warm picture quality.Technical tests show immaculate contrast and strong brightness together with excellent gradients and a smoothly distributed backlight that gives rich vibrant colours to the viewing experience. The only minor issue is a small edging of backlight bleed around the screen perimeter which is almost totally corrected by reducing the brightness by a small amount. Real world performance shows the Samsung's main asset is its warm colour. This brings bright films and games alive in a way that some more clinical monitors are unable to do. Sharpness is as good as you would expect, and the 5ms response time handled motion with no problems at all.The T220 is a very stylish monitor but does lack extras such as HDMI, speakers and flexible stands; omissions that might make some people reticent to make a purchase. But the styling in a sense is so superior that it can in a way compensate for the lack of these additions. And with a three-year on-site warranty and very reasonable price, you would be very unwise not to give this monitor some serious consideration. If you want the most striking widescreen tft computer monitor in terms of both image quality and design, the T220 is as strong a purchase as you can make.
